I am a joyful Brazilian artist based with my family in Hamilton. We decided to come here to start life again, searching for a balance between work and life and of course a safer place to raise our children with freedom.

Giving up a whole life in Sao Paulo and arriving in New Zealand with just a few suitcases and the desire to start from scratch allowed me to start drawing and painting again after a long hibernation. After three years, now my artwork has evolved to a mature point where I can express my emotions with energy.

I have been painting and drawing since seven years old . In 2020, I completed 25 years of the end of my watercolour and classical drawing training at the Lyceum of Arts and Crafts of Sao Paulo. Later on I studied Architecture and Urban Design and even taught watercolour at the University to fellow students. Slowly life got me busier and I had left sketching only for holiday time. My creativity and design thinking skills was redirected to designing interiors, buildings or even urban master plans.

Besides my artwork, I am an architect and urban designer , and I design spaces that I consider a contribution to the enhancement of people’s livelihood and the development of the country that has received my family.

The unpredictability of watercolour fascinates me as it translates my belief on a universe of endless possibilities.

Working with water and colour is a constant reminder that I need to allow my art and my life as an artist to flow and allow the new possibilities to emerge. In the other hand, it needs a lot of planning and also requires me to draw a lot what gives me certainty and precision when I need it. Drawing is my fortress and is within the lines that I draw the world that I perceive and feel around me. On my practice, I like to keep these two feet to feet!

What moves me forward? I am not concerned about a realistic version of what I see. Actually, I want to capture my feelings about the scenes that I have lived! When I am painting I want to connect within the energy of the place or the flowers, to smell scents and to listen to the sounds around me.

Every day I ask myself if what I am doing may touch people and what I can do to improve my skills and expressiveness. I want my art to make people feel happier and be more aware of the divine in nature.

Both Brazil and New Zealand have a stunning natural environment. Here in New Zealand, I have learned about the sacredness of volcanos, rivers, and mountains. Furthermore, I have all the memories for Brazilian culture and the joy of its people in my mind's eye. So much to soak up and paint!

For the last few years my art has been collected between Brazil and New Zealand, and other countries like Australia, USA, Portugal, England, Ireland and Canada.

In 2023 a great breakthrough and my art is being exhibited at Te Taunga community space at The Auckland Museum together with more 17 Brazilians artists living in New Zealand it brings a perspective of the explorer in a new land and the Saudades of Mei Brasil ( my Brasil)

I hope you enjoy this Journey with me!
